Dang those are nice shots...Convict Lake and Mono Lake look like real desk top material. It's certainly a beautiful time of the year - thanks for the pictures.

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.

A bit off topic but Huck have you fished Stampede at all this time of the year? Andy at the Reno Fly Shop says the BIG browns stack up at the feeders streams and can be had with some brightly colored streamers. Have you had a chance to give it a try?

Re:Whew........ 17 Years, 6 Months ago
Hi Pete,
I haven't gone down there this time of year because I'm usually fishing on the main Truckee and (sometimes) Little Truckee. This year, I was hunting till 10/19. So this weekend is my first fishing excursion for awhile.
Somewhat nasty access especially in bad weather, but the Little Truckee inlet might be worth checking out. Email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) if you need more details.

As usual I always try to pick one for a favorite. You made it extremely tough this time, but I ended up picking out the Convict Lake shot. Just too awesome for words. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite thing about fishing isn't the catching, but just being there - Beerfly

Jims:
Those are just stunning. You sense of composition is never ceases to amaze me. And such colors and lighting. How about printing a calendar for the board and selling it to help financially support the board----and maybe some for you, too. I'd be first in line to buy one. Just a thought. I think it's time for you to retire and do your photography full time. No question you could make a living at it.

Thanks so much for sharing your splendid pictures.

Great Stuff, I just went down that way this weekend. Saw mono at sunrise, your capture is beautiful. The trees are now barren, so I'm sorry I was late!!

jIM....

You've shown me many pictures over the last couple of years. Butt, I got to admit, the Convict Lake photo is the best I've ever seen. That is really good work.

Print a copy, frame it, and give it to me.

I like it.
